  • Dr Poonam Arora

    Dr Poonam Arora is a highly experienced specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, and a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) since 2010.  Dr Arora completed her Obstetrics & Gynaecology training at Waikato and Auckland City Hospitals in New Zealand, followed by advanced accredited training at Monash Medical Centre and Sunshine Hospital.

    Poonam enjoys mentoring and educating fellows, junior obstetricians, and gynaecologists.

    Poonam currently offers specialist services at St John of God Berwick Hospital, Mulgrave Private Hospital and Waverley Private Hospital.

    Poonam cares for both low and high-risk pregnancies with a personalised approach for each mother and baby’s needs. 

    Poonam loves to travel and spend time with her husband, children and grandchildren.

    Poonam is also fluent in English, Hindi and Arabic.

  • Dr Iruka Kumarage

    Iruka Kumarage completed his specialist training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in the UK, followed by advanced training in urogynaecology and pelvic floor surgery. After working as a specialist in London and Surrey, he moved to Australia in 2013 and has been serving the Ballarat and regional Victoria communities for the past decade. Iruka currently offers specialist services at St John of God Berwick Hospital, Jessie McPherson Private Hospital, Mulgrave Private Hospital and Monash Medical Centre.

    With over 20 years of experience, Iruka provides comprehensive pregnancy care, including high-risk obstetric care.

    In his gynaecology practice, he addresses menstrual issues, pelvic pain (including endometriosis and ovarian cysts), contraception, menopause, polycystic ovarian syndrome, fertility concerns, urinary incontinence, and vaginal prolapse. He also offers Colposcopy and IUCD insertion/removal services in his Berwick consulting rooms.

    Iruka continues to enjoy sports in his free time and is also a music enthusiast, playing both the guitar and the oriental bamboo flute.

  • Tara - Midwife

    Tara is our clinic Midwife and has been an integral part of the team for more than 7 years.

    Tara brings a warm and welcoming presence to our clinic, making every patient feel comfortable and cared for. Her ability to form a special bond with each individual is truly remarkable. She is always attentive, patiently answering any questions or concerns, and provides reassurance throughout their pregnancy journey. Tara’s compassionate nature and dedication to her patients are evident in every interaction, and she plays a crucial role in ensuring that each person feels supported and valued.

    In addition to her exceptional interpersonal skills, Tara has an expert understanding of obstetrics. She leverages her extensive knowledge to provide tailored care that addresses each patient’s unique needs and preferences. Her ability to navigate complex medical situations with empathy and professionalism greatly enhances the patient experience and contributes to positive outcomes.

    Outside of her professional role, Tara is a devoted mother of two teenage children. She enjoys spending quality time with her family and has a passion for snowboarding, skiing, and overseas travel.

    Tara’s combination of expertise, compassionate care, and personal dedication makes her an invaluable member of our team and a source of comfort and support for our patients.

  • Hilda Yan - Dietitian

    Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD, AN)

    Hilda specialises in weight loss and diabetes. Her interest in modifying food intake for weight loss stems from personal experience struggling with her weight since childhood. Since becoming a dietitian she has found the balance in enjoying physical health, whilst still being able to enjoy her favourite foods and the social aspect of food. She is passionate about using her own past experiences, combined with her extensive training, work experience and the latest scientific evidence to assist her patients to have a healthy lifestyle without restriction and guilt.

  • Laura Andrews - Physiotherapist

    Postgraduate Certificate in Continence and Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation

    Laura Andrews is a dedicated Musculoskeletal and Women's Health Physiotherapist known for her compassionate and genuine approach. She completed her undergraduate studies in Physiotherapy with Honours Research in Pelvic Health, followed by a Postgraduate Certificate in Continence and Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation at Melbourne University. Laura has pursued extensive professional development in areas such as pelvic pain, pregnancy and post-natal care, and exercise for women. Additionally, she has a keen interest in treating dizziness, vertigo, and headaches.

    Her clinical practice integrates evidence-based physiotherapy techniques with pilates, dry needling, education, and exercise rehabilitation to offer comprehensive care. Outside of her professional life, Laura enjoys spending time with her young family, exploring the beach, and running local trails.
